Corners of the Family House

When I arrived early to visit my parents, I realized how little my home had changed since my childhood. That's why I decided to capture some of the nooks and crannies that were very important to me as a little boy.

The silhouettes of birds of prey, dangerous plants, and thorny antlers scared me at night. I felt especially safe under the table, from where I had a view of the entire kitchen. I was attracted by the contents of the drawers, which had their own secrets, scents, and some even jingled beautifully when pushed firmly. In the cracks in the ceiling during my illness, I saw the outlines of mountains full of fairy-tale creatures.

The scenes from my family home are of immense value to me, but I believe that you will also enjoy finding here a belated report on folk piety, village aesthetics and the taste of people at the end of the 20th century.

The photographs were presented at the exhibition of Devín amateur photographers in 2025.
